After an opening ceremony at the City Hall with Chief Executive Leif Vidar Olsen and county politician Grete Ernø Johansen, social events and professional performances such as lectures and group work followed. Lectures were given by Finnmark kraft, Eni Norge, ABB, Aibel, Statoil, NTNU og Barentssekretariatet. Students then worked in groups to solve today's theme "Powering up the arctic, young competence needed and how to get it?" where network was established across national boundaries.
The feedback has been nothing but positive for the event, but as organizers we were made aware of the huge demand there is for such conferences, where the student / institution meets the industry. Another experience we made is the need to spread the knowledge of our region and work opportunities to a greater extent than we do today to a much larger market, as this is particularly unknown for institutions and students in the Barents Region.
We take the opportunity to thank everyone for their effort and especially our partners for their good cooperation.
